The papers are still on about Madeleine McCann. Not that I don’t feel sorry for her, but how many other children have gone missing since 3 may 2007? I’m sure all this coverage could help in finding her, but it’s not fair to the other children who deserve to be found just as much.

And I can’t help suspecting that Madeleine got all this attention because she is white, blonde and pretty. If someone kidnapped a little black girl with beady eyes and a cleft lip, would the press be all over it? Not very likely.

At the same time the media (not just in the USA) has this silly love affair with Barrack Obama. Is he the alibi some people need to obsess about Madeleine?
