Another reality show suicide
It’s happened before and it will happen again – reality show suicides. This time it’s the jury of the immensely popular “American Idol” that has managed to push a vulnerable person over the edge with the good old public rejection that works so well in these kind of shows.
Not surprisingly, FOX that airs the show denies any responsibility. Psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow – incidentally on FOX news payroll – says the contestant, Paula Goodspeed, was already in bad mental health so the judges are not to be blamed, “her apparent suicide was certainly not just because of her experience on the show.”
According to the article Goodspeed had been stalking Paula Abdul for years. So they must have known that she was mentally unstable, particularly in connection with Abdul. And knowing this, they put her on national TV and ridiculed and humiliated her right in front of Abdul.
Paula Abduls says her “heart and prayers go out to her [Goodspeed's] family.” Gee, thanks.
